Coldplay on FUSE TV Live

Coldplay recently played a live (no commercial interrupted) concert from the MuchMusic Lot in Toronto, Canada to promote their new upcoming album, Mylo Xyloto due out October 24th. This aired on FUSE TV on September 21st. Their first single from the album, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall released in June 2011 and followed by Paradise released earlier this month, laid the ground work to another hit studio album.

The stage was set as if to resemble an abandoned warehouse surrounded by an industrial site littered with graffiti. Even Chris Martin's piano appeared to have been taken by a hatchet with the piano keys exposed all the way to the root. Beautiful artwork covered the piano in spray paint to show all the Mylo Xyloto logos and song titles. Chris entered the stage with a beat down guitar slung over his shoulder that appeared to have been dragged in the mud and etched with lyrics along with a simple rainbow painted on his right hand. Lasers, confetti and fireworks proved that this show this was going set the stage for an amazing tour and screams 'We are back."

The band opened with Hurts Like Heaven, an upbeat song that takes you back to THEM.  This song shows nothing has changed as far as style and grace within the bands mecca sound. The audience and fans are in for a treat. The new album appears to mirror their past sound and they have embraced their energy again, not to disappoint. If it ain't broke - Don't fix it.

The magic started to happen when The Scientist began to play, followed by the never ending sound of Clocks.  The magic swelled as Chris began singing a trancing interlude tribute to Miss Amy Winehouse herself with Rehab, performed in true Coldplay style. The crowd participated in the late singer’s anthem until the band moved into Fix You, how apropos! This song is their greatest ballad written and hits you in the gut, they really nailed it.

The concert was peppered with other smashing hits such as, Viva La Vida (a crowd favorite) and of course, Yellow.  The new songs, Charlie Brown, Major Minus and Paradise were also performed and the band closed the night with Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, proudly thanking the fans for attending.

In all, Coldplay does not disappoint and I am anxiously awaiting their next album, seems like October 24th cannot get here fast enough.

No sour notes here, only sweet sweet lemonade!
